A competitor in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. John Wes Townley did not participate in the truck series race in Kentucky recently since he was going through treatment for what is being called a “possible concussion” according to his team’s statement.
Instead Parker Kligerman drove the No. 05 Jive Communications Chevrolet at the Kentucky Speedway.
The news was announced in a statement released by the team that didn’t have any further detail about the incident. However it did mention that Townley hopes to be back behind the wheel of his truck for the race on July 20 at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway, owned by Tony Stewart.
At the truck race a few weeks ago at Gateway Motorsports Park, Townley was part of a physical altercation with Spencer Gallagher. NASCAR fined Townley $15,000 for the incident and he made a public apology.
After being fined, Townley said he wished to apologize to his fans and to NASCAR and that his actions weren’t how he wanted to represent Jive Communications, Zaxby’s or himself. He also promised to do his best to assure it doesn’t ever happen again.
