John Key already shook New Zealand when he said that he was stepping down as the prime minister after eight years on the post. He also might have spent the day before on a golf course.
Key’s love for the sport is known, he was even a golf buddy of Barack Obama when they were in the office.
During his last trip to Paraparaumu Beach Golf Club on the Kapiti Coast as a PM, Key told one of the employees there that “he wanted to play more golf.” John Key also added that his wife would be happier if he didn’t run for another term and that he had bought her another set of golf clubs.
It is expected that deputy prime minister Bill English will be named as Key’s replacement during the vote of New Zealand’s National Party on December 12.
