Students at Canon City High School have recently been accused of snapping pictures of themselves that are considered sexually explicit, and then sharing them with other students, including the football team.
In fact, the school district has stated that over half of the members of the football team were implicated by the scandal, and there could be serious consequences. Because of this, they decided to forfeit the game on Saturday.
Superintendent George Welsh stated that “this type of behavior isn’t what we’re teaching the kids.”
Once the scandal had been uncovered on Monday, coaches and administrators started quickly taking action, including forfeiting the game against Discovery Canyon High School.
