At Kentucky Speedway, Daniel Hemric, on the verge of attaining a career-best outcome, left the seat of his No. 19 Chevrolet shaking his head, unhappy with coming short of improving his best finish and instead only matching it.

During the final run of laps in the Buckle Up in Your Truck 225 race, Hemric was chasing after William Bryon, who eventually won the race.

The 25-year-old’s hunt for the checkered flag was ruined by an error, which allowed the No. 8 Chevrolet driven by John Hunter Nemecheck overtake the second place during Lap 146.

Twice before in this season, Hemric has placed third, at Kansas and Gateway.
