Arian Foster, Miami Dolphins running back, has announced his retirement from the NFL, effective immediately. Foster played with the Dolphins this offseason after seven years with the Houston Texans, where he earned a title of one of the best running backs in the NFL.
Foster always had a history with injuries, getting yet another one earlier. The burden must have become too great for him to bear.
During his career, Foster carried out 1,476 times for 6,527 yards and got 54 touchdowns. He led the NFL in rushing touchdowns (16), rushing yards (1,616), and yards from scrimmage (2,220) during the 2010 season. Foster was also named a First-Team All-Pro in 2010 and a Second-Team member in 2011.
Arian Foster was not simply a great player, he was also quite frank about issues with the league, both football and otherwise. He was accepted as one of the NFL’s most charismatic players, and he should have no problem getting a career commenting on the NFL if he wishes to.
