When Dave Dombrowski was the general manager and president for the Detroit Tigers, they were always on the lookout for more players. Deals at the last minute have included epic trades for David Price, Anibal Sanchez, and Doug Fister, along with the 2015 firesale, where the Tigers netted a number of young players that seemed promising.

It looks like this year will be a different story. The Detroit Tigers seem hesitant to sever ties with the talented youngsters they added last year, and Al Avila, the new general manager, has repeatedly stressed the value of training the players already on the team. In fact, he even told reporters the Tigers won’t be participating in any significant deals in July.

But that’s not to suggest the Detroit Tigers aren’t on the lookout for the best deal. Some of the available players could give the current roster a boost, without devastating the team. The names might not be most ostentatious, but it could pay off in the end. Here are five players that should be in the Tiger’s sights before the trade deadline.
